4-days Tour from Marrakech to Merzouga Desert To Fes

Private 4-day Tour from Marrakech to Merzouga Desert To Fes:

Day 1: Marrakech – High Atlas – Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah – Ouarzazate – Dadés Valley

At eight in the morning, a driver will pick you up from your Marrakech lodging and take you to the High Atlas, a subrange of the Moroccan Atlas mountains.

En route, you’ll stop at Tizi N’Tichka port for panoramic views and to take pictures of the Berber small villages that blend into the surroundings.

Then, we travel further south to Ait Ben Haddou ksar, or fortified village, where we will see the renowned Kasbah (declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1986).

Famous movies like Gladiator, Obelix, The Mummy, The Jewel of the Nile, and Sahara with Penélope Cruz have all been shot on this magnificent set. Lunchtime in the town is free. Then we continue to Ouarzazate also known as “The gate of the desert” which in the Berber language means “noiseless or without confusion“.

The Taourirt Kasbah, one of Morocco most impressive ksars, can be found here. The Rose Valley, which passes through the expansive Skoura palm grove, is the next place to see. It’s a lovely place to admire the more than 700.000 palm trees there as well as the numerous kasbahs that have been constructed nearby.

Damascene roses are grown in this valley for use in beauty products like the highly prized rosewater. Every year in May, this city hosts the Rose Festival, a significant event in Moroccan culture. We arrive at the Dades Valley, where we will spend the night, at last.

Day 2: Dadés Valley – Todra Gorges – Merzouga – Camel Trek and overnight in the Berber tent

After breakfast, we’ll take in one of the most stunning views of the Dadées Valley from a well-placed mountain lookout. From there, we can see the many kasbahs and the individual scenic features of each one.

From the city of Tinghir, a very good asphalt road ascends the valley to the gorge and then to the desert. We will arrive at the Todra Gorges after a few stops along the way.

The view is breathtaking. Residents can be seen in the adobe villages, where they reside. These gorges are popular with rock climbers because of their rocky sides with numerous uneven surfaces.

After a brief stroll through the Todra gorges, you’ll have some free time to grab lunch in Tinejdad or Touroug before we continue onto the desert and the magnificent Merzouga dune system.

From there, we’ll ride a camel for an hour to our nomad camp, which is situated in the middle of a sea of sand (Erg Chebbi). We’ll watch the sunset from a dune’s top before dinner, and we’ll spend the night in a tent under a starry sky.

Day 3: Merzouga Desert – Nomads Families – Khamlia Village – Erg Chebbi

This is a full day in the Desert. “Date with the dawn” It’s worth getting up early if you’re in the middle of the desert to take in the most breathtaking sunrise you’ve ever seen at the top of a dune close to the camp and appreciate this landscape that is a gift from nature.

Ride camels back to Merzouga after sunrise, where a filling breakfast is waiting for us. The Big Dune of Morocco, which is more than 250 meters high, is located in the Erg Chebbi, a vast extension of the sandy desert.

The route that was formerly taken for the “Paris-Dakar” continues after that and ends in the mountains that border Agelia. After stopping at the Tissardmin oasis, where there are still fossil quarries in the area, we continue along a road where we can see nomad settlements and discover their customs.

The next stop will be at a lookout point to consider the Erg Chebbi crater. We will then arrive at Kamilia Village, which is originally from Mali, where we will enjoy a soothing cup of tea while we watch a performance of Gnawa spiritual music.

Transfer to your lodging, then enjoy the afternoon at leisure in the town or on the nearby dunes to watch the sunset. Dinner and a hotel stay are included.

Day 4: Merzouga Desert – Ziz Valley – Cedar forests and monkey troupes of Azrou – Fes

After breakfast, we begin our final day’s journey to the north through the largest palm grove in the world, Tafilalet.

Along the 20km of road, you’ll see a lot of palm trees. This route takes us to the Ziz Valley, where a river flows that originates in the high Atlas and nourishes a palm grove.

Here, we pause and take in the breathtaking view of the valley and the town of Aoufous from this elevated vantage point.

We stop again in Midelt, which is smack in the middle of the Atlas Mountains. Here, you’ll have some free time to eat lunch and take a break.

We continue through the Cedar Woods in the afternoon, hoping to spot some monkeys along the way. Our next stop is the city of Ifrane, which is 1630 meters above sea level and located on the Middle Atlas’ northwest slope.

This city resembles a Swiss town thanks to its wide avenues, perfectly clean urban development, gardens, green spaces, and architecture.

In Morocco, Ifrane senses a lack of place. Because of this, it is known as Moroccan Switzerland, and as if that weren’t enough, Michlifen is a significant ski resort.

At about 6 pm we arrive at Fes, transfer to the hotel, and end our services.
